Costa Rica is excited about the upcoming ICANN meeting taking place there and the chance to be the “focus of the global internet community.”

Looks like there will be some competition for several new TLDs. Will be interesting to see who ends up winning.
So far so good – ICANN reports there have been no problems with the online application system.

It turns out that small start-up may not secure .bank – the trademark was recently withdrawn.
The application window is open, and still lots of news coming out of the new TLD world.

A group based in Canada will apply for .kiwi top level domain for New Zealand.
